RHE
Relationship and Health Education (RHE) is taught in every class.
Each Key Stage follows a structured programme 'Life to the full', which has been designed for Catholic primary schools, and meets the Statutory guidance on Relationships education (primary).
There are three modules in each Key Stage:
Module 1: Created and Loved by God
Module 2: Created to Love Others
Module 3: Created to Live in Community
‘I have come to that you might have live and have it to the full’
(Jn.10.10)
Catholic Schools are required to teach RHE in accordance with the teachings of the Church. This approach is compatible with the guidance issued by the DfE. The DfE guidance can be found here.
At St. Patrick's we believe that God has given us life and he wants us to live life to the full.
We follow the TenTen RSE curriculum, as recommended by the Birmingham Diocese Education Service.
Relationships Education is taught throughout the school from our Nursery through to Year 6. Through our carefully mapped out and planned scheme, children learn about the importance of healthy relationships, consent, and scientific understanding of the body and the reproductive system.
Parents can take a look at the information we teach and share by talking to their child's class teach. You can also contact the school to gain access to the 'Life to the Full' Parent Portal to access all the resources, videos and view the programme content.
