Summer Term Week 7- wb 8.6.20

Monday 8th June 2020

 

  • 9.30 - 10.30am: English Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw for you to access the Meet. This week we are continuing our topic 'Where would you like to live?' focusing on different countries around the world. Today we will be comparing differences and similarities between 2 different countries. *I have allocated the e-book to you on ActiveLearn, please log on so you can access it from your own computer*
  • 10.30 - 11am: Break Time! Make sure you try to do something fun that doesn't relate to school or work- this could be going outside in the garden (if it's nice weather) or playing with some toys or having a snack and watching a little bit of tv.
  • 11am - 12pm: Maths Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw. Please make sure you go onto Seesaw to access your work for today. We are starting a new unit 'Properties of Shapes'. Today we will be learning about turns and angles.
  • Reading- please log onto Purple Mash for your task today- Chapter 1 and multiple choice quiz about 'The Last Selkie'.

  • Science- Please click the link for access to your lesson today: Friction. You will be able to watch a video clip and then undertake 2 activities- the first one is interactive on your screen. For the second task, I would like you to predict which surface a toy car would move quickest on- will it be wood, carpet, foil, tiles, concrete or grass? I would like you to push the toy car from a starting point and then measure how far the car travelled on each surface using a ruler or tape measure. Record your results on the sheet that I have uploaded to Seesaw please.   • Computing / DT / Science- I would like you to research what a tornado is and answer these questions. Can you write down the definition? What causes a tornado? Where do tornados usually happen? When was the last tornado recorded? What kind of damage do they cause? Are there any other facts that you can find about tornados? Once you've done your research and answered the questions, I would like you to click on the link to watch a video of a homemade tornado. Can you make one yourself?
