Summer Term Week 6- wb 1.6.20

Monday 1st June 2020

 

  • 9 - 10am: English Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw for you to access the Meet. This week we are continuing our topic 'Where would you like to live?' focusing on different countries around the world. Today we will be understanding the concept of subject- specific vocabulary. *I have allocated the e-book to you on ActiveLearn, please log on so you can access it from your own computer*
  • 10 - 10.30am: Break Time! Make sure you try to do something fun that doesn't relate to school or work- this could be going outside in the garden (if it's nice weather) or playing with some toys or having a snack and watching a little bit of tv.
  • 10.30 - 11.30am: Maths Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw. Please make sure you go onto Seesaw to access your work for today. We are continuing our unit 'Time'. Today we will be learning about the 24 hour clock times.
  • Reading- please log onto Purple Mash for your task today- Chapter 1 and multiple choice quiz about 'Alien Hotel'
  • *I am making this whole week Art focused for you as I want you to make the most of the nice weather outside if you are able to!*
  • Art- Research who Andy Goldsworthy is and what art he is famous for creating. Look at his sculptures and write about some of them- what do you like and why? What do you not like and why? Which piece is your favourite and why? Your second task is to go outside in your garden or go for a walk and collect all things natural to create your very own sculpture or picture- can you try and recreate Andy's volcano top? You could collect leaves, branches, twigs, flowers, grass, pine cones, rocks etc.

 

Tuesday 2nd June 2020

This week we are continuing our topic 'Where would you like to live?' focusing on different countries around the world. Today we will be using paragraphs and headings to organise ideas around a theme.
  • 10 - 10.30am: Break Time! Make sure you try to do something fun that doesn't relate to school or work- this could be going outside in the garden (if it's nice weather) or playing with some toys or having a snack and watching a little bit of tv.
  • 10.30 - 11.30am: Maths Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw. Please make sure you go onto Seesaw to access your work for today. We are continuing our unit 'Time'. Today we will be learning how to find the duration of different tasks.
  • Reading- please log onto Purple Mash for your task today- Chapter 2 and multiple choice quiz about 'Alien Hotel'
  • Art- find a nice spot in your garden where you can sit or lie down but still see plenty of things in front of you. Your task is to sketch / draw exactly what you see. Are there some trees you can draw? Or bushes? Flowers? Tree Stumps? A bird table / feeder? A trampoline? The side of your house? Compare your drawing to the actual real-life setting- are they similar? Was it tricky to do this task? Why?

  • 10.30 - 11.30am: Maths Live Teaching Lesson on Google Classroom. Remember I will post the link onto GC and Seesaw. Please make sure you go onto Seesaw to access your work for today. We are continuing our unit 'Time'. Today we will be learning to compare the duration of different tasks.
  • Reading- please log onto Purple Mash for your task today- Chapter 3 and multiple choice quiz about 'Alien Hotel'
  • Art- I would like you to go on a treasure hunt! Find things in your garden or on a walk that begin with each letter of the alphabet. Write them down in order (eg acorn, buttercup, cloud, dog etc) then take a picture of your list and send it to me. Good luck!

  • Art- The weather has let us down! Instead of your sundial task, I would like you to look at the image I have uploaded at the bottom of this page. How many different line patterned pictures can you draw? Use the picture below to help you- be creative! Can you use broken lines? Continuous lines? Crossed lines? Curved lines? Can you draw lines to create an image?
