Welcome to Reception!
Our teacher is Miss Barber and our teaching assistant is Mrs Dunn.
We love to share our learning with our families, each week we send home an overview of the things that we have been doing and some suggested acitvites so that you can join in at home too. Please click on the links below:
During the Spring Term we will be thinking all about the topic 'Will you read me a story?' and 'Do zebras have stripes?'
Songs we love:
To link with our work all about space, we have enjoyed singing this song 'Five little men in a flying saucer', maybe you could sing along at home and practice taking one away!
Phonics - We have daily phonics sessions where we learn new sounds and think about the letter shapes that make them. At St. Patrick's we really enjoy singing the Jolly Phonics songs and learning the actions - here is a link so you can join in at home too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COJdn6sbbsk
PE - Monday/ Wednesday (Please ensure that earrings are removed before children come to school)
Homework - Set on a Friday, to be returned the following Wednesday please.
In Reception our homework is an overview of some of the activites that we have learnt about during that week. Please encourage your child to talk about the different topics and share their ideas with you. Please feel free to add any comments/ photographs/ activties that are completed at home - learning happens everywhere!
Thank you to all of the parents/ carers who have been able to attend our sessions. Working together in partnership will allow us to continue to provide the best possible outcomes for the children and by working together we can ensure that consistent practice, expectations and development are secured.
Copies of the presentatins that were shared in each session are available below, please do not hestiate to contact Miss Barber if you have any queries.
