Nursery

Welcome to Nursery Class

Mrs Rodgers and Mrs Davies

At St Patrick’s we aim to provide the highest quality care and education for all our children giving them a strong foundation for their future learning. We create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences t enabling children to become confident, creative and independent. We value each individual child, working with parents as partners and helping each child to reach their full potential.

We adhere to the Statutory Framework of the EYFS and the four guiding principles that shape practice within Early Years settings.

  • Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
  • Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships
  • Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers
  • Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates

St Patrick’s Nursery is a Catholic Nursery. The Nursery is part of St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School. We follow the Catholic ethos Love, Learn, Respect to ensure the children’s spiritual needs are met. The Nursery provides care for 24 children in each session both mornings and afternoons. The Nursery is staffed by Mrs Rodgers - teacher and Mrs Davies -Teaching Assistant, who both have a wealth of experience, energy and passion for working with Early Years children. We are always available to try and answer any queries you may have regarding our setting.

Your child will have a smooth transition into St Patrick's school community to integrate them into school life. We include Nursery joint activities such as  library days, assemblies, school productions and school events. We also work consistently and closely with Reception to build confidence and to ensure a smooth transition when they begin school. We often visit St Patrick’s Church which is next door to the school. The Nursery also follow Diocesan R.E strategy, learning and growing as the people of God, which runs throughout the school Our first RE topic is 'Creation' exploring how God created us, how we have changed and the world about us.
